Prof. Shripad P. Mahulikar is an Aerospace Engineer with 1st degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay & a PhD in Micro-scale Thermal Science from Nanyang Technological University Singapore. He received the A. von Humboldt Fellowship in F.R. Germany thrice (2003, 2007, 2007) & was DFG-Mercator Chair Professorship in T.U. Hamburg in 2011-12. He is a Professor (permanent) in Dept. of Aerospace Eng. IIT Bombay.
His academic research interests include Infrared (IR) Signatures of Aircraft & Helicopters, Heat Transfer to Hyper-sonic Reusable Vehicle, & Irreversible Thermodynamics. He masterminded the stealth design of IR-suppressor for the Indian Advanced Light Helicopter. In addition to exchange of academic know-how with Indian defense organizations on IR-stealth, Prof. Mahulikar also served Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. as an academic consultant on IR-signatures in 2017.
